| During the 1950's I was introduced to Lionel's music through my cousin. Everytime Lionel would have a concert in New York the tickets were sold out! Throughout the years it was impossible to get good seats. I finally caught up with him a few years ago at his birthday celebration on broadway in New York. I could not believe what I saw in terms of performance. This man was awesome! Finally I caught up with him again and as you can see I got the best seat in the house. Lionel, I miss you! |

| Fate brought us together when Percy France hired me as a guest vocalist to work at Brooklyn's Flamingo Club. A fine bassist indeed! At 82 and still going strong. This year Leonard made my family connection to my second cousin Clark Monroe. Clark Monroe's Uptown was a famous jazz nightclub in Harlem during the 1940's and 50's. Clark also ran Kelly Stables Jazz Club and the Famous Door on West 52nd street later on in the 50's. Now I know why I love jazz so much. It's in my blood! |

| I met Carrie while on tour in Europe ten years ago in the 80's. In New York she starred in Black and Blue on Broadway along with Ruth Brown in the late 80's. She set the starge on fire! I was so proud and happy for my dear friend. She deserved to be on Broadway doing what she does best. |

| Jimmy Sigler, organist, songwriter, producer, singer and also the brother of Bunny Sigler. A great accompanist for singers. He was Dinah Washington's Music Director for many years. He still has the organ that Dinah gave he as a present. He wrote great songs for Patti Labelle, Phyllis Hyman, and the Spinners. |
